Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Nionx Cloud (“Nionx”, “we”), run by Benjamin Juhasz in Sweden, about using the website, dashboard, API, connection for AI tools and status page (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you use it for an organization, you confirm you may accept them on its behalf, and “you” includes that organization.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
1. The closed beta
Nionx Cloud is in a closed beta. Use it for testing, not for real projects or live production secrets yet. During the beta:
- Accounts are by invitation, and we may limit the number of testers.
- Features can change, be removed or behave unexpectedly.
- The Service may be unavailable at times, and there's no uptime commitment. Current status and past incidents are at status.nionx.cloud.
- We may need to reset or delete beta data. We'll warn you before we do, unless security requires acting at once.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 and give accurate account details.
- One person per account. Invite teammates instead of sharing a login.
- Keep your password, two-factor codes, backup codes and API tokens safe. You're responsible for what happens with them and with the Google or GitHub accounts you connect.
- Tell us right away at security@nionx.cloud if you think your account, a token or a connected tool was compromised, and revoke or disconnect it.
3. Your content
You own what you put in Nionx: workspaces, projects, secret names and secret values (“Your Content”). You give us permission to store, encrypt, process and return it only as needed to run the Service for you. We claim no other rights to it.
You're responsible for having the right to store Your Content with us, and for who you give access to: workspace members and their roles, API tokens and connected tools. Anyone holding a valid API token can read that environment's secret values until the token expires or is revoked, from any address unless you set an IP allowlist.
4. AI tools and other connected apps
You can connect AI tools (such as Claude Code) and the Nionx command-line tool to your account. When you approve one, it acts for you in the workspace and with the permissions you chose, and its changes are recorded in the audit log as yours.
- Connected tools never receive secret values from Nionx. When one needs a value, you type it into Nionx yourself.
- Only connect tools you trust and started connecting yourself. You're responsible for what you ask them to do.
- Don't paste secret values into AI chats, prompts or code. Nionx can't protect a value once it's somewhere else.
- You can disconnect a tool at any time under Account → Connections. It stops working on its next request.
Connected tools are made by other companies and have their own terms and privacy policies. We aren't responsible for them.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights,
- store credentials you aren't allowed to have, such as stolen or leaked keys,
- access other people's accounts or data, or get around plan limits, rate limits, IP allowlists or other security controls,
- overload, disrupt, scan or attack the Service or other users, including through automated sign-ups or excessive API calls,
- spread malware, spam or phishing, or pretend to be Nionx or someone else,
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the Service, or build a competing service from it, without our written permission.
Good-faith security research is welcome: test only with your own accounts and data, don't disrupt the Service or access other people's data, and report what you find to security@nionx.cloud before telling anyone else. We won't take legal action against research that follows these rules.
6. Plans and limits
The beta is free. The Free plan's limits (such as projects, members and API calls per month) are shown in each workspace's settings and enforced automatically. Other plans shown on the website or in the dashboard are a preview: they aren't available yet. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you in advance, and nothing will be charged without your clear agreement.
7. Our rights in the Service
The Service, its software, design, documentation and the Nionx name and cloud logo belong to us. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the Service as described here, nothing more. Parts of Nionx, such as the command-line tool, may be published as open source; their own licence applies to them.
8. Feedback
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Nionx without paying you or owing you anything. We'll never publish your name or what you wrote without asking.
9. Signing in with Google or GitHub
If you sign in with or connect Google or GitHub, their own terms apply to your account with them. If you lose access to that account, you may lose that way of signing in to Nionx, so keep a second sign-in method where you can.
10. Suspension and ending
You can stop using Nionx at any time: delete your workspaces, revoke your tokens, disconnect your tools and ask us to delete your account.
We may suspend or close an account, revoke tokens or disconnect tools that break these terms, put the Service or other users at risk, or when the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may also end the beta; if we do, we'll give at least 30 days' notice so you can move your secrets elsewhere.
11. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, especially during the beta. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every attack or fit for a particular purpose. Keep your own copy of any secret you can't afford to lose, and be ready to rotate a secret if you think it was exposed.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Nionx isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, or the cost of rotating credentials, and our total liability for all claims about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (during the free beta, that's zero). Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.
13. If you use Nionx for an organization
If you use the Service for a business or organization, it will cover our reasonable costs from claims by others that arise from its content or from breaking these terms. This doesn't apply to you as a private individual.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service develops. We'll change the date at the top and, for important changes, email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can stop using it.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Swedish law, and disputes go to the courts of Sweden. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and can bring a claim there. Before going to court, please write to us first; most problems can be solved by email.
16. General
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Nionx about the Service.
- If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a part of these terms straight away, we can still do so later.
- You can't transfer these terms to someone else without our agreement. We may transfer them if Nionx is sold or reorganised, and we'll tell you.
- We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages at our providers.
17. Contact
Questions about these terms: legal@nionx.cloud. Security reports: security@nionx.cloud. Everything else: hello@nionx.cloud.
